Fantasy Friday – Who’s Your Favorite?

I don’t know what it is about December, but I’ve become programed to snuggle under a blanket and read my favorite fantasy. Or at least, one of my favorites.

So I got to thinking, I wonder who others consider their favorite?

I’ll list a few of the “big names” in a poll and you can vote for which of those you like best. But if your true, all time favorite isn’t included, feel free to leave a comment and tell us what fantasy author would get your nod.

  1. Had to vote twice: C.S.Lewis had plenty of votes but a second favorite of mine, Lloyd Alexander, didn’t seem to have any [sob!] I just had to try and get him on the board. If folks haven’t read his classic children’s series, the Prydain Chronicles, they’ve missed a great series.

  2. One author you missed that I really enjoy is Terry Brooks 🙂

  3. Kathy, the Chronicles of Prydain are some of my favorites, too. In the end I didn’t vote for Alexander because he’s probably 3rd favorite. 😕 But I agree—anyone who loves fantasy shouldn’t miss these wonderful books.

Morgan, I thought about putting Terry Brooks down Should have done it.

  4. It really is hard to keep to just one author. I really love Gillian Bradshaw’s fantasy works, esp. Hawk of May, but I guess she’s not classed as a strict fantasy writer, so I have to cast my vote for Jack Lewis.

  5. Well, it seems to be neck and neck between Jack and John.

I thought others might be curious what authors got the “other” votes (some more than one):

    Anne McCaffreu
    Wayne Thomas Batson
    Holly Lisle
