Fantasy Friday – Nominations Needed

Let’s see if we can select a book to receive the 2009 Clive Staples Award for Christian Speculative Fiction. We need nominations.

These must be Christian worldview science fiction/ fantasy/allegory/furturistic/supernatural novels published in English by a royalty paying press between January 2008 and December 2008.

You may post the book title, author, and publisher you think is qualified for this award in a comment here or at Speculative Faith or at the Award site.

Looking forward to seeing this list develop.

Cross posted at Speculative Faith and at Clive Staples Award.

  6. Cathi, we didn’t have the judging in place last year, so did not choose a winner. This year we are making this a readers’ choice award. After nominations are in, there will be a survey set up that allows a person one vote.

We’re hoping that the award will eventually attract enough attention to bring in a corporate sponsor with some prize money, but that’s down the line. First it has to work at this level, I think.

Merri, I haven’t read Havah yet. Is it speculative, not just speculation? I know Demon was.

Millardthemk, I agree with your sentiments about Wayne Batson. However, for nomination purposes, we need you to give the title of a book published in 2008.

Catherine, a similar note about Chris’s books. Was one of them published in 2008, and if so, please supply the title.

Thanks, all, for your participation. Keep the nominations coming!
